Woodchuck Traps
Live Traps We don’t sell killing traps for woodchucks. Such traps are fine in the hands of professionals; but most of our customers are not professionals, and it’s hard for us to evaluate the risk involved to pets, children, and even unwary adults. What’s more, live traps work fine and can do essentially the same woodchuck removal task safely. One or more of these traps should be baited with slices of cantaloupe melon or apples and should be set in areas frequented by the woodchucks you wish to catch, preferably just outside their burrows. (If you see flies at the entrance to the burrow, the woodchuck is probably inside). The Havahart traps listed below have a top-of-the-line reputation with good reason. All models come fully assembled and are easy to bait, set, and release. Their spring-loaded doors have sensitive triggers to make quick, secure catches; the steel-reinforced high-tensile wire mesh construction is designed for a long life and maximum resistance to damage; and the smooth inside edges protect trapped animals. |
